Painting Courses with Mediha Ting

There will be two different painting courses available: Introduction to painting and Improved Beginners

Introduction to painting

Wednesdays, 7:00-9:30pm

From 28th Sept - 7th Dec 2010 (10 weeks, with 1 week half term)

Location: Nunnery Gallery – Bow Arts Trust, 183 Bow Road, Bow, London E3 2SJ

(£19 excluding materials and £23 included materials per class)

This course is tailored for those with no prior experience of painting as well as those who wish to expand their skills and experiment with new ideas. It will cover fundamental skills such as composition, marks making, colour theory and applications of oil/acrylic paint.  Experimentation and individual creativity will be encouraged throughout the course to expand your understanding of technique and aid the development of your individual styles.

Improved Beginners

Tuesdays, 7:00-9:30pm

From 29th Sept - 8th Dec 2010 (10 weeks, with 1 week half term)

This course is suitable for those who already have some basic knowledge of painting and wish to expand their skills, understanding and technique.  Building on the fundamental skills, this course will also cover the essentials of composition such as: perspective, unity, variety, balance, contrast and proportion; advanced colour theory such as context, tints, shades and complementary colours. The small class environment will ensure individuals get close attention suitable to their standard.
